All events-lower limb

Impaired PROM – Lower Limb. Met if one lower limb meets one or more of the 5 primary criteria, OR two or more of the 5 secondary criteria: Primary: 1. Hip flexion deficit of ≥ 60°. 2. Hip extension deficit of ≥ 40°. 3. Knee flexion deficit of ≥ 75°. 4. Knee extension deficit of ≥ 35°. 5. ≤ 10° ankle dorsi/plantar flexion available in the range between 10° dorsiflexion and 25° plantar flexion. Secondary: 1. Hip flexion deficit of ≥ 45° but < 60°. 2. Hip extension deficit of ≥ 25° but < 40°. 3. Knee flexion deficit of ≥ 55° but < 75°. 4. Knee extension deficit of ≥ 25° but < 35°. 5. ≤ 20° ankle dorsi/plantar flexion available in the range between 10° dorsiflexion and 25° plantar flexion.

All running and jumping events-upper limb

Impaired PROM – Upper Limb, eligible for all running (100m–marathon) and jumping Events. Meet one or more: 1. ≤ 15° shoulder extension available in the range between neutral and 50° extension. 2. Elbow flexion deficit of ≥ 130° OR ankylosis in any position in the range 0-30° flexion. (Wrist and fingers are not assessed; an impairment only affecting PROM of the wrist is not eligible.)

Sprint (100m-400m) and jumping events-upper limb

Impaired PROM – Upper Limb, eligible ONLY for running Events from 100m to 400m and jumping Events (meets these but not Section 2.1.5.2.1). Meet one or more: 1. ≤ 45° shoulder flexion available in the range between neutral and 90° flexion. 2. Elbow extension deficit of ≥ 70° or ankylosis of the elbow ≥ 80° flexion.

Throwing · Unilateral upper limb

Unilateral upper limb Impaired Passive Range of Movement, eligible for throwing Events (criteria differ from running/jumping Events). Meet one or more of the following: 1. Shoulder abduction ≤ 60° available in the range between 0° and 90° abduction. 2. Elbow extension deficit of ≥ 70°, or ankylosis of the elbow in ≥ 80° flexion.

Throwing · Bilateral upper limb

Bilateral upper limb Impaired Passive Range of Movement, eligible for throwing Events (criteria differ from running/jumping Events; both upper limbs must separately meet one or more of the following). 1. Shoulder abduction ≤ 60°. 2. Shoulder horizontal flexion ≤ 40° (if PROM is between 60° and 90°, the Athlete must not be able to actively horizontally flex through available PROM to 60°; if horizontal flexion PROM is <60°, must not be able to actively flex through available PROM). 3. Shoulder horizontal extension ≤ 20°. 4. Elbow extension deficit of ≥ 45°, or ankylosis of the elbow in any position. 5. Wrist ankylosed in ≥ 50° flexion or extension. 6. Any four digits with ≤ 10° of flexion/extension available at the metacarpophalangeal joint.

An Athlete will be allocated a total point score for the Physical Assessment (based on individual point scores awarded in the Physcial Assessment tests). An Athlete must lose a minimum of fifteen (15) points in the Physical Assessment (scoring resulting from Sections 4-7 of this Appendix) to continue to the Technical Assessment. If fifteen (15) points are not lost after the Physical Assesement the Athlete must be allocated Not Eligible (NE) and the Technical Assessment will not be conducted. If following the Technical Assessment, the Athlete loses less than fifteen (15) points, the Athlete is deemed Not Eligible (NE).
