Classcope explanation

Cycle class defined by specified limb-deficiency combinations or comparable functional loss and by class-specific coordination profiles. The rulebook also describes adaptation where a normal crank revolution is not possible.

Classcope explanation — navigation support only. The official Sport Class rule is shown separately below.

Sport Class profile

Limb Deficiency - Single below knee amputation with the use of a prosthesis + Single above elbow amputation, no prosthesis; or - Single through knee or above knee amputation with the use of a prosthesis + Single below elbow amputation; or - Double amputation below knee.

Muscle Power/ Passive Range of Movement (ROM) - Loss of function comparable to limb deficiency profiles above. - Limited ROM of the hip or knee such that a normal functional full revolution of the crank is not possible without use of adaptation such as crank length.

Hypertonia - Spasticity grade 2 in impaired lower limb(s), lower limbs more involved; - Spasticity grade 1 in impaired upper limb. - Hypertonia on activity can often be seen.

Ataxia - Shows intermittent and mild to moderate signs of Ataxia.

Athetosis/Dystonia - Intermittent signs of Athetosis/Dystonia with sub-maximum to moderate intensity of posturing or amplitude of movement;
